Kolesov Ye.V. Paleomagnetism of Paleozoic of the Omuljovka uplift (North-Eastern Russia).- Magadan: NEISRI FEB RAS, 2004.- 79 p.- ISBN 5-94729-080-4.

The generalized results of paleomagnetic investigations (1980-2000) of the Paleozoic occurrences widely developed in the Omulyovka uplift and numerous, particularly, in southern districts of the sub-region, and remains of different organisms (corals, foraminifera, ostracods, brachiopods, trilobites, graptoliths and conodontoforids) are for the first time given in this paper. Some of these sections are the regional stratotypes and parastratotypes of the boundaries of systems, sections, unites and also suits, distinguished here. About 50 outcrops covering the age interval from Ordovician up to Permian were studied. Only 10 outcrops were suitable for magnetostratigraphic constructions after the detailed laboratory tests. Generalized magnetostratigraphic scale of Paleozoic for the southern portion of the Omulyovka uplift was compiled after these outcrops. This scale is based on the biomagnetostratigraphic data with the analogous scales for the Prikolyma uplift and the Omolon massif. These scales were correlated with the general magnetostratigraphic scale (GMSS) and generalized scales that were created on the basis of study of numerous Paleozoic sections all round the world.
Carried out magnetostratigraphic researches have revealed in some sections of the north-eastern region the geomagnetic inversions confined to the intervals of the intervals of the global geological events (Kelvasser event, Late Frasnian, interval of the conodont zone linquiformis and Khangenberg event, the boundary of Famennian and Tournaisian, the interval of the conodont zone of Upper praesulcata). These inversions are proved at the same biostratigraphic level in the sections, located far from the North-East of Russia (the Urals, Tien-Shan, Belgium, Germany, Western Spitsbergen island and China). At the same time, the Author suggests that only coincidence of geomagnetic inversions with the intervals of the global events is observed, but this fact couldn’t be the evidence of these inversions influence onto the change in the development of organic world. This relations may be more complex that it was supposed earlier. It is a results of both Earth’s (eustatic vibrations of the World Ocean level, of the tectonic genesis time, peculiarities of general and regional paleogeomorphology etc.) and non-Earth’s, astronomic reasons.
Paleomagnetic data for separate structures of the north-eastern region (The Omulyovka, Prikolyma uplifts and the Omolon massif) have been obtained during the researches. These data, in combination with the literary materials, make possible to follow the dynamics of development of the mentioned tectonic structures during the Fanerozoic time. The Author has made a conclusion that mentioned structures, during the all Fanerozoic time. The Author has made a conclusion that mentioned structures, during the all Fanerozoic period, were located not far from the Siberian platform and moved together with this platform from the western hemisphere in northern direction across the pole to their modern position wich they had in the Late Mesozoic. At the same time, turns of mentioned structures both relatively the Siberian platform and each other were marked.
The book is intended for stratigraphers, paleomagnetits, tectonits.
Key words: Paleozoic, magnetostratigraphy, geomagnetic transition, global geological events, geodynamics.
